Spanish 5 provides students with a challenging University level program that examines the literature of Spanish speaking countries and regions. By including contemporary topics and issues related to the world around them, this course serves as a foundation for future learning. In this advanced level course students are required to master their skills in Spanish and to become competent in oral and written communication. To this end, students will refine their abilities to read and think critically, to speak and write persuasively, to use technology creatively and to work cooperatively with others. In addition, students are expected to take personal responsibility for their learning in terms of completing the out-of-class assignments (homework, projects, and papers) and fully participate in the in-class activities (discussions, presentation and simulations).
