World Civilizations is a full year, junior requirement that explores the foundations of western civilization, the ideas that have shaped this part of the world and the influence these ideas have had globally. Students will also have an opportunity to explore the contributions of non-western cultures to an ever changing global dynamic. Throughout the year, students will study issues that cross national and regional boundaries and connect course content to current events. A major goal of this course is to share an appreciation of the rich cultural diversity that the world has to offer and to develop a critical understanding of the interactions and relationships of these cultures in a highly interconnected world.
